Top Tips About Bed Bug Bites

It is a sad truth that more and more people are finding themselves covered with Bed Bug Bites. It is not that they are unclean, it is simply that bed bug infestations are on the rise again for the first time since before World War II. Sadly, the pesticides that have controlled them for so long are no longer used because they are too dangerous. The pesky bugs are thriving in all sorts of places. You really want to learn about them so that you can avoid their itchy bites.

The ruthless little brown bugs bite you and suck your blood while you are asleep at night. They munch right over any uncovered skin. So you will find the rows of bites they commonly make on your face, hands, arms, and neck. Doctors actually refer to these rows as the breakfast, lunch, and dinner pattern. The tiny bugs like to feed sequentially, and their feeding pattern makes rows.

Because their bites itch and swell up, they can be mistaken for mosquito or flea bites. If you scratch them, you may cause them to become infected. You will need to take antibiotics if this happens. Unfortunately, it happens often. Their initial bites are usually painless, but the bite rows can itch terribly and swell up too.

They are very small, oval shaped, reddish brown insects. They have wings, but they cannot fly. Their color makes them look a lot like cockroaches, but they are much smaller. If you happen to see one once it has fed, it may look very red.

These nasty bugs can live in many areas in your home. It is common to find them in wooden furniture, or even cracks in walls. But they tend to cluster near mattresses, box springs, bed frames, dressers, wicker furniture, and upholstery. The areas they like to live in can be either very crowded and unclean, or very clean. They can live for months without feeding, so vacant homes and hotel rooms are likely places to find them.

Once you are bitten, the bites will become small and raised bumps. The bumps may turn red and itch, but not always. The best way to know if they are sharing your space is to look for dark fecal stains on sheets, bedding, and particularly in corners of bedroom furniture.

There is really no way to treat the bites themselves. You have to treat the itching and swelling that results from the bites by using steroid creams. If this does not help, then you should try taking some oral antihistamines. Try not to scratch the bites. Do your best to find their infestations and clean them out with sprays, throwing away severely infested household items, and cleaning from top to bottom of your home. If you are very lucky you will avoid Bed Bug Bites once you get rid of the bugs themselves.

It’s a rock solid fact that bed bug bites are quickly increasing. You thus need a reliable treatment method to get rid of the problem permanently. More info now in our bed bug overview including Bed Bug Bites Pictures .
