Query by steve h: How do I get rid of conifers in my personal garden?
They are actually large and also quite overgrown. The prior proprietor advised me they have Tree Preservation Orders on them. They kill my lawn and garden and I would like at least one of them to be removed fully. Can I bargain with the council by promising to change it with a fruit tree?

Don’t you adore it when you allow government get involved in your life?! Yes, you will have to go to council and state why want a tree gone and that you will preplant……..even though how effectively that replant will do with all the underground roots from the other trees and the lack of sunshine is questionable. Ask if you could pay to have a tree planted in some other place to substitute the one particular you want to take away.

if there is a TPO in spot there really isnt alot that can be carried out unless property is in danger or the tree is at risk of falling more than.
id double verify that your neighbour has the correct info and doesnt just like them becoming there
