When we talk about loft beds, images of dorm rooms where students are crammed come to mind. But loft beds are not only for students in dorms, you can et one to maximize the space inside your home. Personally, I would go for the full size loft bed right off the bat because I need the extra inches for more pillow space. Full beds are also commonly called double beds.

Basically, loft beds can be made up of a metal frame or wood frame and a sturdy mattress. The ideal frame is one that fits your budget and your room. If you’re getting a wooden loft bed, however, you should pay attention to the type of wood used. Cherry and oak hardwood make for excellent loft bed frames.

You can opt to have a loft bed made according to the proportions of the person sleeping in it. For instance, if your child is bulkier than average, you can modify the length of the bed or add additional support to the frame.

If you’re buying a loft bed, always look for extras, such as built-in computer desk, a chest of drawers and book shelves. Of course, additional features will jack up the price of the loft bed.
